Why for Mahabharata was fought in Kurukshetra?

For this reason the war of Mahabharata was fought in Kurukshetra.

According to the Mahabharata in Bharatvansha, the land which was collected by King Kuru repeatedly, is called Kurukshetra. Devraj Indra had given a boon to King Kuru that anyone who dies while fighting this place will get the heaven. This is the reason that the war of Mahabharata was fought in Kurukshetra. But how and when did this King Kuru receive this boon, there is no complete information about it. Learn more related story-

According to the Mahabharata, the area that Kuru had repeatedly used to be, was named Kurukshetra. It is said that when Kuru was plowing this area, Indra went to him and asked for the reason. Kuru said that the person who is killed at this place should go to the virtuous people, such is my wish. Indra went to heaven after blowing his talk in laughter. This happened so many times. Indra also told these things to other deities. Gods told Indra that if possible, do Kuru in your favor. Then Indra went to Kuru and said that any animal, bird or man will be killed in this place by being fearless or fighting, then he will be a partner in heaven. This thing was known to Bhishma, Krishna etc., so the war of Mahabharata was fought in Kurukshetra.

In the Mahabharata and other mythologies, the glory of Kurukshetra has been told. According to the Mahabharata's forest cover, all people come to Kurukshetra and become free from sin and who says that I will go to Kurukshetra and will reside there. Even the dust in the dust gives the ultimate post to the sinner. Narada has come in the Puranas that the planets, constellations and stars are afraid of falling down (from the sky) by the caliphate, but those who die in the Kurukshetra do not fall back to the earth, that is, they do not take birth again. In the first stanza of Bhagvadgita, Kurukshetra has been called Dharmakshtra.
