Meghalaya has some of the largest forests in the country. Therefore, today one of the most important ecotourism circuits in the country. Meghalaya sub-tropical forest is found in many types of vegetation and organisms. Meghalaya has 2 National Parks and 3 Wildlife Sanctuaries.
Meghalaya offers many bold tourism opportunities in the form of mountaineering, rock climbing, trekking and hiking, water sports etc. Deer and bears are a water sports complex near Umiyam Lake, which includes robot boats, paddle boats, sailing boats, cruise-boats, water scooters, and speedboats.
Cherrapunji is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the northeast of India. It is located in the south of the capital Shillong.
The popular water fountains in the state are Elephant Falls, Shadham Falls, Venia Falls, Bishop Falls, Nohlikikai Falls, Longshying Falls and Sweet Falls. This is a very good place to visit.
Best Time to Visit
The weather in Meghalaya varies with the height. The weather of Khasi and Jaintia Hills is very pleasant. It is neither too hot in the summer nor too cold in winter, but on the plains of Garo Hills, the weather is hot and humid, except in the winter. Its name is because the sky of Meghalaya is sometimes free from the clouds. The average annual rainfall is approximately 1,150 cm. These are not less than heaven.
