Fatehpuri Mosque, Delhi

Fatehpuri Mosque is located on the western end of Chandni Chowk. This mosque was built in 1650 by Fatehpuri Begum, which was one of Shahjahan's wives. The mosque is made of red sandstone. This mosque is a single domed collective mosque in whole of Delhi. However, on the outside, this appears to be quite small but when you enter it, then it is a big structure. The traditional design remains in the mosque and its prayer hall has seven arched openings.

The central arch of the mosque is the largest of seven other arches. There is a one-storey and two-storey structure on both sides of the mosque. The mosque has three doors. The first door, in front of the Red Fort and the second and third doors are respectively engaged in the north and south of the mosque. Two festivals of Islam are celebrated in Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Zuah in this mosque. Other nearby attractions of Fatahpuri Mosque are the Red Fort and Jama Masjid. Khari Baavali, Asia's largest masala market, is also located around this area.
